McCrea Delighted by response to Joint Unionist Candidate in Mid Ulster
Ian McCrea, DUP Assembly Member for Mid Ulster has said he is delighted by the positive public response to the candidature of Nigel Lutton in the forthcoming Mid Ulster by-election.
Ian McCrea MLA said:
“When both Unionist parties came together to support the candidature of Nigel Lutton in the forthcoming by-election we tapped in to the overwhelming desire of the large majority of unionists in Mid Ulster and beyond for greater unionist co-operation. Since our joint announcement I have been delighted by the response of many constituents supporting this move. Nigel is an excellent candidate and he represents a very positive alternative to the years of drift and neglect that have been the case since Sinn Fein took the seat in 1997.
I am delighted to be proposing Nigel for this election and I know that members of both parties are looking forward to getting out and about during the by-election campaign to persuade voters of the need for change. After many years of absenteeism, it is crucial that all people, including those who may have never voted for a unionist candidate before come out and use their vote for the only candidate, other than Molloy who has any prospect of winning the election.
If people want change, then Nigel presents a great opportunity to everyone who cares about Mid Ulster and doesn’t want to see it left behind any longer”, said the MLA.
